Why Endo Pact?

Endo Pact was an idea that came to mind when I stopped to think about the lack of awareness and education in my community. From the age of twelve, I was riddled with pain that no doctor could ever seem to diagnose. I spent years in therapy after being told my pain was in my head and countless hours researching my symptoms before coming to the realization that I must have a disease called endometriosis. I eventually took that information to a different doctor in a new town and begged for a diagnostic surgery to prove once and for all that this pain was real. Low and behold, my organs looked like someone had dumped a pepper shaker on them due to the endo lesions. I am now four surgeries deep including two excisions, two organs lighter (thanks, endo!), and eternally grateful for the care I have received from caring specialists. I am dedicating my life to raising awareness, advocating for the proper acknowledgement of female pain, and fighting for a cure for this disease. The idea behind the name is to make a pact with my fellow endo sisters to help future generations of girls, helping to ensure that they will not have to endure nearly as much suffering as we have.
